About Hillman Township

Welcome to the official website for the Hillman Township government. Located in Michigan’s northeastern lower peninsula, Hillman Township comprises 72 square miles of forest, lakes, streams and farmland. This rural community has population of 2,175 and a median age of 53 years.

Outdoor activities abound here, with numerous lakes and streams as well as the Thunder Bay River. The Fletcher Floodwaters is also nearby, with ample fishing in all seasons. Thousands of acres of state land provide camping, fishing and hunting opportunities.

Located within the township you find the village of Hillman. This small town provides many of the services of a larger city, while preserving the charm of a traditional small town. The Brush Creek Mill and the Community Center provide venues for social and cultural activities.
